Security Expo 2024, Chile’s leading international security trade fair, is just around the corner. The exhibition and congress will present solutions, technological innovations and will have dialogues on national and international security issues.

Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of the exhibition that will be held from September 25 to 27 at Metropolitan Santiago, highlighted the importance of the event: “Today security is transversal and touches all areas of society. Therefore, those who attend our fair will be able to find all the necessary elements to be safer on a daily basis”.

The event has the strategic sponsorship of Carabineros de Chile, and the support of important private and public institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Gendarmería de Chile, Conecta Logística, CPSEG Chile, Invest Chile, Aprimin, ANAPCI, CNC, ANAC, AMUCH, Cámara Chileno Británica de Comercio and ASEVA.

Exhibitor news

During the three days of operation, visitors to the fair will be able to walk the aisles and learn about the technological solutions and innovations that leading companies will be exhibiting at Metropolitan Santiago. “We have over 100 companies participating, with a 100% focus on security and technology, which reaffirms the importance and contribution of this exhibition to the country”, said Rodrigo Bastidas.

Among the novelties that those who visit SeguridadExpo will be able to find there are of diverse nature.

Aerovan: Company specialized in the armoring of category 2, 3 and 3 plus vehicles. Resistant to blows and bullets. For the exhibition days the company will bring two armored vehicles that can be tested.

Hikvision: Hikvision offers a wide range of products covering security and control systems, through video, access control and alarm systems. For this edition of Security Expo, they will present a camera that has a range of 20 kilometers.

Army Factory and Workshop: Visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to see the entire catalog and learn about the trend and vanguard of shields, vests and various defense products such as ammunition, small arms, among others.

Congress

In addition to outstanding companies in the market, there will be a Congress in which professionals and leading experts in the sector will share their knowledge and experience in the different panels that are framed under the theme “Security in the 21st century: How do we address the challenge today?”.

“With the aim of bringing the community closer to the contingent security issues that afflict the country we thought of this Congress, where the main issues in the area are addressed and analyzed by different panels of experts,” detailed Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of the exhibition.

The program contains the following panels:

Panel 1: Crossing Borders: International Experiences in Border Control and Management.
This panel will present success stories and lessons learned from different countries in border management and control. Speakers will address the latest technologies and methods of international cooperation that are transforming border security, offering a comprehensive view on how to improve efficiency and security in these critical areas.

Panel 2: Tracking the Finances of Global Organized Crime

Organized crime operates through complex financial networks that span borders. This panel will bring together finance and security specialists to discuss the most effective strategies and tools in tracking and disrupting criminal finances globally. Case studies will be explored and the impact of technology in the fight against illicit finance will be analyzed.

Panel 3: Intelligence in the Southern Macrozone: The State and Forestry Experience

Focusing on security in Chile’s Southern Macrozone, this panel will present the collaboration between the State and forestry companies in the use of intelligence to address security challenges in the region. Participants will discuss successful strategies and the role of advanced technology in the protection and management of resources in a complex and challenging environment.

Panel 4: COGRID: Institutionalism in Disaster Risk Management

The focus of this panel is to discuss the existing protocol regarding national disasters (mega fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, among others).

In addition, the event will include two outstanding presentations. The first will be given by Juan Pablo Arancibia, who will present a talk entitled “Safe seas, protected borders: the role of DIRECTEMAR in public safety”, addressing the key role of the Navy in the country’s maritime protection. The second presentation will be given by Edward Dunn, representative of the Embassy of the United Kingdom, with the theme “The Silent Threat: A UK Intelligence Report on Organized Crime”, offering a deep insight into global criminal operations.
